Optimal Structures for Real-time Implementing Linear Digital State-Space System

Abstract In this paper, a numerical robustness of digital system structure is analysed, in forward manner, by means of a theoretical quantization errors propagation study of both roundoff noise and coefficient quantization errors. This study takes departure from the description of the quantized state-space. It is shown that the previous methods for optimal structures synthesis are not suitable and leads to restraint conditions of optimality. Then more general conditions and optimal realizations are derived.
