Best practice guidelines for wellbeing of staff and students after a disruption in Queensland schools

This report contains the foundational underpinnings for best practices for wellbeing initiatives in Queensland schools following disruption events. This project was funded by a Queensland Department of Education, Education Horizon Grant to inform the preparation and planning needed for schools to mitigate the negative psychological impacts of human-made and natural disasters. The theoretical and empirical literature reviewed in this report underscores the important function schools play and focusses on schools as a central hub and trusted institutional spaces for managing wellbeing recovery of staff and students following disruption events. Practical implications for teachers, school leaders and gudiance officers are included and recommendations for future research are discussed.
