The Solenoporaceae: A General Point of View

The classification of the Solenoporaceae is very difficult to establish, as the criteria which may be used are scarce and not very reliable. There is a great deal of confusion surrounding generic and specific allocation and classification systems. Even today, it is still not possible, e.g. between green algae and red algae, for one to determine a definite assignment for this group.
