The Fast Resonant Rovibrational Nonlinearity of CO and CO 2 in the Mid-IR

Time- and frequency-resolved measurements of resonant nonlinear refraction of mid-IR radiation by CO and CO 2 gas reveal a fast optical nonlinearity that is dominated by power-broadening resulting in sign reversals of the nonlinear refractive index.
