The Optimum Grayscale Algorithm Based on Human Visual Characteristics

The gray modulation method is introduced in this paper,in which the flaw of the mainstream gray modulation is analyzed.According to the human visual characteristics an advanced algorithm based on the optimum mathematic model is put forward.The feasibility of the algorithm is proved by FPGA hardware and VHDL program.Simulations and analysis indicate that such optimum algorithm can produce better output that fits to the ideal curve.Compared with the former,it improves the peak flicker frequency up to 32 times at 256 grayscale,achieves better color performance,reduces the visible flicker,and enhances the stability of dynamic image.
