Provided are an overtaking auxiliary method and device. The method comprises following steps: acquiring request operation of a later driver through a first interaction module by a first processor; sending overtaking request information to a second processor by the first processor based on request operation; controlling a second interaction module to transmit overtaking request information to a former driver by the second processor; acquiring feedback operation as to whether the former driver permits overtaking request information through the second interaction module by the second processor; sending a feedback response message to the first processor by the second processor based on feedback operation; and controlling the first interaction module by the first controller and transmitting feedback response message to the later driver. The overtaking auxiliary method and device have following beneficial effects: a later car can receive feedback of the overtaking request sent by the later to the former car in order to determine whether the later card can overtake; and safety is improved.
