Correlation between the Parameters of Gas-Phase and Electrochemical Hydrogenation Processes of Intermetallic Compounds

The main ways measuring the parameters that characterize processes of the gas-phase and electrochemical hydrogenation of intermetallic compounds—promising materials for metal hydride hydrogen tanks and chemical power sources—are listed and discussed. The general principles of the mathematical treatment of pertinent experimental data and ways of determining the effective diffusion coefficient of hydrogen in metal hydrides are described. It is shown that sorption/desorption isotherms can be constructed for metal−hydrogen systems on the basis of electrochemical measurements.
