A simple detection method for spatially modulated optical wireless communication

A complex modulation named QCM for MIMO system was proposed in [7] and it was shown that additional process for converting complex signal to real value is not required. However, considering the optimum ML method in QCM system, there is a problem that the complexity of the receiver is greatly increased. In this paper, we propose a simple detection method for QCM-MIMO system. The proposed method can generate the small number of reliable candidate vectors by using upper triangular structure in QR decomposition. The simulation results show that the proposed method can nearly approach the optimum ML performance with feasible complexity.
