The changes of the serum IgM CRP levels in the asphyxiated neonates and infection after asphyxia

2006
Objective: To study the changes and meaning of serum IgM CRP in asphyxiated neonates and infection after asphyxia. Methods: The concentrations of serum IgM and CRP were determined with immunoturbidimetry. Results: The serum IgM levels decreased significantly in asphyxiated neonates compared to the control group(P0.01).The same changes happened to the infection group.(P0.01).However the serum IgM levels in infection group approach to the asphyxia group.(P0.05) The serum CRP levels in asphyxia group were higher than those of control group(P0.01).The serum CRP levels increased significantly in infection group compared to the control group(P0.05).The serum CRP levels also have significantly difference between infection group and control group.(P0.05) Conclusion:The serum CRP levels increased significantly in the infection group after asphyxia. The serum CRP levels may be an early fact in diagnosis the infant infection.
