Is there an effect of thyroid autoimmunity on the outcomes of assisted reproduction

We aimed to evaluate the role of thyroid autoantibodies (TAA) on the outcomes of intracytoplasmic sperm injection-embryo transfer (ICSI-ET). A prospective case–control study was conducted in the in vitro fertilisation (IVF) centre of Suleymaniye Maternity Training and Research Hospital, Istanbul, Turkey between July 2013 and March 2014. A total of 49 (19.52%) TAA-positive and 202 TAA-negative patients were enrolled. Demographic characteristics and laboratory parameters were recorded. All patients underwent ICSI-ET. Thirty-one TAA-positive patients (32 cycles) and 121 TAA-negative patients (126 cycles) completed the study.
