Secure satellite communication & beacon tracking device

2009
“NexTrak” secure beacon tracker and bi-directional communication device transmits the mobile end-user's GPS location in an encrypted format which can integrate with Joint Friendly Force Tracking architectures. The device capability also provides for secure bi-directional communication, i.e., encrypted brevity codes (to the home base) and receipt of encrypted text messages (from the home base). An emergency duress mode capability provides notification to the receiving home base in less than one minute and will persist at an every minute interval until turned off by the home base. Finally, the NexTrak can work anytime, anywhere in the world where there is a view of the sky. The Iridium protocol used by NexTrak is Short Burst Data, which has an extensively tested and evaluated low profile signal signature. Combined with Type II (256-bit) AES encryption, the NexTrak will be able to provide outstanding communications security without COMSEC-controlled restrictions.
