Tratamiento de verrugas plantares con bleomicina intralesional

2000
Warts are bening tumors that involve skin and mucous membranes, are caused by human papillomaviruses, and are frecuently located on soles. We have performed a intralesional bleomycin treatment study in patients with plantar warts. Material and method.- we treated 24 plantar warts in healthy patients, of all ages and both sexes. Bleomycin 1 U/ml was injeted into warts. The volume injected varied according to the size of the lesion; warts less or equal than 3 mm received 0,1 ml and those up to 3 mm received 0,2 ml. The patients returned 1 month after treatment and persistant warts were injected with the same doses for a second time. Results: 95% warts showed complete resolution after one or two injections. One wart (4%) was resistant to the treatment. Conclusions: Intralesional bleomycin is an election technique for treatment of plantar warts.
