Experimental Study on Cracking Development and Crack-width Calculation of FRP Rods Reinforced Concrete Beams

This paper analyzes the cracking mechanism,cracking development,cracking pattern,the influence of ratio of bar arrangement on the crack width and crack spacing of in the concrete beams reinforced by smooth round GFRP bar,surface-adhering-sand screw-thread-form CFRP(Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer) bar and GFRP(Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer) bar,respectively.The calculation formula of crack width recommended in ACI440.1R-01 was verified and compared with other formulae.The results show that the predicted values based on ACI440.1R-01 fit better with the experimental data,and hence recommend the parameters in the formula.
