Silver nanoparticles synthesis in water solution of maleic anhydride copolymers

2010
A variety of silver nanodispersions were synthesized in aqueous solutions of polyelectrolytes obtained from alternating copolymers of maleic anhydride with styrene sulfonide (StSO 3 , MA) and with vinyl acetate (VAc-MA). The smaller size of the aggregates depends on the concentration of the organic component and assure Ag° particle stability. Synthesized nanoparticles were observed by XRD and SEM analyses and evidenced the presence of face centered cubic structured nanocrystals, with a higher degree of structural order in solid phase for low polyelectrolyte concentrations. DLS analyzes show that Ag 0 nanoparticles dimensions increases with the increase of the polyelectrolyte concentration. Using UV, fluorescence and X-ray spectra analysis we have explored the effects of Ag 0 nanoparticles presence.
