A novel artificial bee colony algorithm for solving spray gun trajectory optimization on complex surface

Aiming at the optimization of spray gun trajectory for complex surfaces, a novel Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) algorithm is proposed in this paper, which optimizes the uniformity of coating thickness. In order to improve the solution quality, we adopted a new neighborhood search method that extracts the excellent individuals in the population for joint development to enhance the accuracy of the solution. At the same time, the Boltzmann selection strategy is introduced so that the current iteration number becomes the influence factor of the following probability. The experimental verification shows that, the new ABC has better solution quality and stronger robustness than the traditional one, and it can well solve the optimization problem of the gun trajectory for complex surfaces.
