In this paper, the temperature rising of the IPM type motor was inhibited because of increasing the heat capacity according to increasing the frame length. Thermocouples were attached on the teeth and coil end turns of IPMSM, and temperature rise experiments of basic model and the increased model of heat capacity were performed. Validity of this study was proven through comparison of the experimented results with the simulation ones.
