A novel black crystalline composite based on a fluoran dye and a bisphenol S derivative for high performance thermal papers

Abstract A novel black crystalline composite was prepared using a fluoran dye and a bisphenol S derivative for high performance thermal paper. This composite can be potentially applied as a functional black ink without near-infrared absorption. In addition, the coloured structure of the fluoran dye with the developer was successfully analysed.
