A cigarette paper coated with a coating material for a low ignition propensity (LIP), containing the coating material for a low ignition propensity (LIP) at least one selected from the group consisting of sorbitan monostearate, isostearate sorbitan, propylene glycol stearate and glyceryl stearate, wherein the coating material for LIP is coated on both sides of the cigarette paper and wherein the coating material for LIP has a thickness of 0.5 ~ 20 um.
