Study of dielectric relaxation in poly(epoxypropylcarbazole)
1995
The dielectric properties of poly(epoxypropylcarbazole) (PEPCa) layers are investigated within the temperature interval 240 to 330 K in the frequency region 10−5 to 105 Hz by means of the combination of dc and ac measuring techniques. On the basis of dependences of dc decay on voltage, temperature, and on poling time it is proved that current kinetics and, consequently, the relaxation bands are caused by reorientation of permanent dipoles. For the investigated PEPCa layers, three dielectric relaxation regions are detected. For the α-relaxation which has the highest polarization strength the shape of the relaxation curve and other parameters are analysed on the basis of the phenomenological Havriliak-Negami approach as well as the free volume theory.
