Room temperature tensile property and fracture behavior of CuNi10Fe1Mn alloy rods produced by OCC process

2013
AbstractThe Ohno continuous casting process was used to produce CuNi10Fe1Mn alloy rods with unidirectional morphologies. The results of tensile tests showed that the present alloy exhibited an elongation of 51%, which cannot be obtained by conventional processes such as the sand casting or continuous casting. Scanning electron microscopy of the fracture surfaces indicated that fracture was of the ductile dimple type. The content of sulphur was found to have a significant influence on the ductility of the present alloy at room temperature.
