The present invention relates to a synthetic resin and a synthetic fiber containing linolenic acid, and a method for producing the same. The synthetic resin or synthetic fiber of the present invention contains 0.7 to 2.5% by weight of vegetable oil in which the content of linolenic acid is 70% by weight or more and the content of a low molecular weight volatile material having a boiling point in the range of 120 to 220°C is less than 5% by weight.
