Density Predicted Using Pre-stack Simultaneous Inversion - A Case Study from Pearl River Mouth Basin

2013
Reservoir characterization in Pearl River Mouth Basin is difficult. Seismic data used for pre-stack inversion needed to be conditioned to remove undesirable effects.Three gather conditioning method including Radon transform for multiple suppression, KL transform for random noise attenuation and RPMO for gather alignment are applied on CRP gathers to improve S/N ratio and the accuracy of AVO properties. Rock physics analysis demonstrates that the low-impedance gas-saturated reservoirs meet Class IV AVO anomalies and the bulk density is the most valuable parameter for lithology-fluid prediction in Panyu Field. Based on near-middle-far stacks and 9 partial-angle stacks, the bulk densities are inverted using pre-stack simultaneous inversion respectively. Lithology properties and hydrocarbon fluid fill are clearly distinguished with inverted density.
