The invention relates to a nursing bed suitable for maintaining postures of orthopedic and stroke patients. The nursing bed comprises a mattress and a bedstead filled with a shear thickening fluid filler composed of dispersion phase particles, a dispersion medium and a surface active agent. By adoption of shear thickening fluid material having the shear thickening property as a bedstead filler, degree to which the bedstead fits for bodies of patients is increased such that the lower surfaces of the bodies are uniformly stressed. Bodies of patients are precluded from producing bedsores due to stress concentration. Patients are prevented from performing rapid and abnormal or unconscious movement. The a nursing bed suitable for maintaining postures of orthopedic and stroke patients is beneficial for fixation of self postures of orthopedic and stroke patients.
