This study aimed to conduct a literature review of national literature, to verify the available tests to researchers and clinicians in the country for assessment of persona lity disorders and discuss the current state of res earch in the area of personality disorders assessment in Brazil. The rel evant databases in the area were consulted, and the search was restricted to 10 years of publication. About the 31 selected w orks, six were kept. Thus, we selected 3 articles, 1 theory and 2 dissertations. Of the 6 selected works, three were focused on the anti-social personality disorder, an d the other three studies addressed the personality disorders of a more exten sive and all are of empirical nature.
