Earthquakes in the Canberra Region

Canberra lies within a broad NE-SW trending belt of epicentres, which faced severe earthquake during 1859-1991. Canberra had its own earthquakes that were not too large but severe in damages. The earthquakes in Dalton-Gunning region also had a strong effect on Canberra, as it is only 60 km away from the Dalton.
