Image reconstruction using an original asynchronous cellular array

1989
Image reconstruction algorithms introduce a new class of problem, because the path that the information has to follow is not regular enough to allow simple systolic implementations. The authors propose to use a type of cellular array characterized by the asynchronous functioning of the cells. This is permitted by an original message communication mechanism which is based on message routing and mailbox principles. >
