Calculations for Coking Chamber Designs with Various Feedstock Charging Methods

2021
The efficiency of various designs of devices for charging feedstock into coking chambers of delayed coking plants is analyzed by hydrodynamic and thermal modeling using ANSYS software. It is demonstrated that the design with two-way feedstock charging using expansible diffusers for reducing charge flow rate, which ensures uniform feedstock mixing, is most efficient.
