Nodular lymphoid hyperplasia of the small intestine in chronic enteritis and immunodeficiency

1990
: Two groups of enteritis patients with benign nodular lymphoid hyperplasia of the small intestine were distinguished: with immunoglobulins (Ig) deficiency (29 patients) and normal Ig synthesis (64 patients). The Ig-deficient group had more pronounced signs of enteritis, higher risk to develop cancer, multiple and disseminated nodular hyperplasia. Morphologically, small intestinal mucosa comprised less plasmatic and plasmacytoid cells, immunoblasts. Inflammation was more manifest.
