Acute Cardiac Failure: A Complication Of Infective Endocarditis In Pregnancy

We report a case of acute cardiac failure in pregnancy resulting from unsusp ected infective endocarditis of the prolapsed mitral valve. Cardiorespirator y collapse rapidly ensued but prompt cardiopulmonary resuscitation saved the mother. Emergency mitral valve replacement was carried out later.
