Decay of $sup 59$Fe to levels of $sup 59$Co

1973
The decay of 45.1-day /sup 59/Fe has been studied with a 40-cm/sup 3/ Ge(Li) detector, a Ge(Li) low-energy photon detector, and a Ge(Li) --Nal(Tl) coincidence system. The measured gamma -ray energies in keV (intensities in parentheses) are as follows: 142.648 (1.02 plus or minus 0.04 %, 192.344 (3.08 plus or minus 0.10)%. 334.8 plus or minus 0.2(0.27 plus or minus 0.01) %, 382.0 plus or minus 0.4(0.018 plus or minu((0.059 plus or minus 0.006) %. gamma - gamma coincidence measurements show that the 382.0-keV gamma ray is in coincidence with the 1099.22-keV gamma ray and that the 1481.7-keV gamma ray is a ground-state transition, thereby establishing a /sup 59/Co level at 1481.7 plus or minus 0.2 keV. gamma - gamma directional please delete the above abstract no. 22933=========
