Influence of shot-blasting on the fatigue strength of aluminium alloy welded joints

Abstract: Prestress shot‐blasting is known to improve the fatigue strength of welded joints. With aluminium alloys, specific criteria must be followed. If this is done, surprising results are found, indicating a very promising development.
