Evaluation of journal impact and U-JIF

This paper gives the definition of U-JIF and analyzes from the aspects of the impact range of journals,the quality of degree theses,and the frequencies of citation.It is necessary and feasible to include degree theses into U-JIF,and it is verified that U-JIF could improve the situation of underestimation of Chinese sci-tech journal impact.In conclusion,U-JIF is worthy to be promoted as a quantitative index to evaluate the quality of journals in recent years.
