An image processing apparatus comprising: feature point extracting unit which extracts a plurality of feature points in a region of the image pixels located at a vertical angle indicating a direction of the positional relationship between the plurality of feature points in the region; selecting means, based on color feature point direction position and the feature point feature points, select a feature point and a set of feature points corresponding to the feature point; representative point determining unit, based on a set of feature points to determine a representative point representing a region ; vector calculating means which calculates a vector constituted by the two representative points based on the respective representative points; and the number of screen lines and the angle extracting unit, based on the distribution vector of the screen is extracted and angles used in the image.
