Efectele suplimentării cu micronutrienţi în perioada de sarcină

2021
Inadequate eating behavior results in a lower intake of micronutrients than the recommended values, among women of reproductive age, and contributes to the increased risk of nutritional deficiencies. The side effects of vitamin A, iron and folic acid deficiencies, including night blindness and iron deficiency anemia in pregnant and lactating women, are well known. The low intake of these nutrients along with other nutrients, such as zinc, calcium, riboflavin, vitamin B6 and vitamin B12, has also consequences for women’s health, pregnancy, health and nutritional status of the infant. The recommendation of vitamin and mineral complexes must continue to be a means of improving the status of micronutrients among young women.
