El cambio de paradigma en la cobertura informativa de la gestión de riesgo de desastres

The article analyzed the coverage of disaster risk management in three regions of Latin America. This, in order to know if the paradigm shifts, from being focused on the disaster to thinking about risk as a social construction, was reflected in the journalistic discourses. From the content analysis of 130 news, it was shown some defects on the writing like the privilege of official sources and press releases, as well as the simple recount of the facts without analysis or context. It was evident that the focus remains on the disaster, which represents an opportunity to exercise prevention journalism that introduces DRM as a cross-cutting theme in the media agenda, aligned with topics such as poverty or corruption and health.
