The invention relates to a process for selecting and recovering heavy metal substances in domestic garbage incineration slag. According to the invention, gravitational potential energy of water and materials is utilized and by three-stage separation equipment of an iron separator, a magnetic separator and a wash box, metal substances and nonmetallic substances in the slag are separated, wherein metals such as iron powder, large particle iron weights, copper blocks, nickel, zinc and the like can be directly sold and utilized; iron slag, metal clinkers and fine particle purities with high specific gravity are subjected to secondary crushing by a crusher, and selected by a table concentrator so as to obtain heavy metals with high added value. The process can effectively achieve separation of the iron metal and the slag from other heavy metals.
