Studying the Possibilities of Generating Electric-Power by Reverse Electrodialysis of Monoethanolamine Aqueous Solutions

2020
The process of power generation by reverse electrodialysis method using carbonized aqueous solutions of monoethanolamine (MEA) of different concentration and degree of carbonization as electrolyte solutions has been studied in this work. Energy generation efficiency has been shown to depend on the electrolytic activity of the carbonized MEA solution. A maximum specific power of 290 J/(m2 kg h) has been obtained using 12% carbonized MEA solutions. During power generation, the MEA solution is decarbonized and the maximum carbon dioxide recovery is 65.8%.
