A programmable rate detector for rapid-reconfigurable rate-transparent optical networks

We report a programmable, rapid-response bit-rate detection and selection circuit that can handle a discrete and continuous range of data rates from 10 Mb/s to 1.3 Gb/s for programming burst mode and conventional clock data regeneration (CDR) functions.
