Impact of Internet, on Reading Habit of Y-Generation of Management College

The purpose of this research paper is to study & explore the impact of the internet availability on the reading habit of the youth of Central India. Traditional reading & habit of library usage have been changed in-to the reading habit with comfort. It has reduced the burden of the person of being restricted to library within time bracket with limited books. Digital library supplementing the traditional library in the 21 st century and youth is no longer confined to print reading.  Youth nowadays depends more on electronic based resources like e-book, e-paper, e-journal, Video, e-maps, then paper based resources like books, magazines, papers & journals etc. The youth especially management students who have open their eyes with full boom of electronic revolution adopt these resources the most. The youth population belongs to the college of central India. The survey method used to conduct the study and the questionnaire was used as the data collection tools. The Stratified Random Sampling Technique was used. The result of the study reveals that the influence of internet and smart devices usage has increased the online reading habit among the students. Internet usage can be advantageous if student only concentrate on reading rather than wasting time on social networking, chatting, videos, etc. Hence the conclusion can be drawn that the internet is the mixed blessing for traditional reading culture.
