TECHNICAL BASIS FOR ACCEPTANCE STANDARDS FOR WELD DISCONTINUITIES

A framework for developing a technical basis for formulating structural integrity acceptance standards for discontinuities in naval ship welded structures is presented. Major considerations in developing the required technical basis through analytical analyses and experimental testing are discussed.
