Embodiments of the present application provide a tunnel bonding-based communications method and a network device. The method comprises: a first network device transmits a service packet to a second network device by means of a first bonded tunnel, the first boned tunnel comprising a first tunnel and a second tunnel; when the first tunnel fails or the quality of transmission does not meet a preset condition, the first network device transmits the service packet to the second network device by means of a second bonded tunnel, the second bonded tunnel comprising a standby tunnel of the first tunnel and the second tunnel. Hence, when a particular tunnel of the original bonded tunnel fails, another bonded tunnel consisting of a standby tunnel of the failed tunnel and the non-failed tunnel is used for continuing to provide tunnel-bonded high-bandwidth services. Therefore, compared with the prior art, the present application can improve the reliability of high-bandwidth communications, thereby improving user satisfaction.
