Research of multiple diagnostic methods for the diagnosis of hepatitis E.

Objective To develop the detective method of multiple hepatitis E virus by using ELISA and RT-PCR.Methods The level of IgM antibody from 261 blood serum specimens was evaluated using the ELISA method.Hepatitis E viral genome was detected using the nested PCR.Result Two blood serum specimens exhibited a weak positive IgM reaction in the ELISA assay and the positive rate was 1.0%.Conclusion Both ELISA and RT-PCR are useful in the early diagnosis of hepatitis E.
