MIXOSPORÍDEOS EM PEIXES DOS RIOS POTI, PARNAÍBA E IGARAÇU NO ESTADO DO PIAUÍ (BRASIL)

Myxozoa has a great diversity, being known about 2,300 species, which mainly infect fish. These organisms present as obligate endoparasites and are responsible for several pathologies. The objective of this study was to evaluate the occurrence of myxosporids in fish ( Cyphocarax gilbert, Hemiodus langeanii, Serrasalmus branditi, Prochilodus lineatus, Geophagus brasiliensis, Hoplias malabaricus, Pimelodus maculatus, Leporinus fasciatus and Platydoras brachylecis ). River Parnaiba, city of Teresina and Rio Igaracu municipality of Parnaiba, State of Piaui. The stereomicroscopic analysis of the 60 fish showed that 50% had small cysts located in the gills and conjunctiva ocular, whose observation in light microscopy showed to be Henneguya sp. and Myxobolus sp.
