Device and method for controlling combustion dynamics of a burner in electric arc furnace.

The present invention relates to a device for the dynamic control of the combustion of a burner (8) with gas or liquid fuel in an electric arc furnace, in particular in a steelworks arc furnace to said burner (8) emitting in use a flame (9) through an opening at one end (8 ') of the burner (8), above a molten metal bath (3) itself surmounted by a scrap charge (5) , characterized in that it comprises means for non-contact measurement, arc located, for estimating the distance (D) between the end (8 ') of the burner (8) and a target constituted by the solid scrap (5 ) facing said end (8 ') said means comprising a source emitting a signal passing through the interior of the burner (8) toward said target and a detector where said signal is sensed reflected by the target, also passing inside the burner.
