The therapeutic effect of matrine combined with chemotherapy in treatment of acute lymphocytic leukemia

Objective To investigate the therapeutic effect of matrine combined with chemotherapy in remission induction treatment of acute lymphocytic leukemia.Methods 57 patients diagnosed as adult acute lymphocytic leukemia were divided into two groups,34 patients in trial group were treated by matrine combined with VDP(vincristine,daunomycin and prednisone) program,and 23 patients in control group with VDP program only.The data in these two groups were compared by χ2 test or t test depending on data distribution.Results The complete remission rates of trial group and control group were 82.35% and 52.17% respectively(χ2=5.9701,P0.05).There was no significant difference in effect on bone marrow depression between these two groups(χ2=1.7210,P0.05).Conclusion Matrine combined with VDP program can raise the complete remission rate in remission induction treatment of adult acute lymphocytic leukemia.
