Decentralization: A geopolitical question. Thoughts on the Spanish crisis

The Spanish institutional crisis raises geopolitical and technical questions on the decentralization. Regional nationalisms (such as in Corsica, Basque Country or Bretagne) modify its stakes. The Spanish Constitution of 1978 opened the way to a more complex model than the Jacobin nation-state where equality was prioritized over diversity. Regional nationalist parties took advantage of the decentralization to disseminate a separatist ideology in the territories the were controlling.
