Temperature dependence of the depolarized low-frequency Raman spectra of water
1991
Abstract The low-frequency Raman spectrum of liquid water is studied in both the Stokes and the anti-Stokes side from −400 to 400 cm −1 . Spectra are obtained in the temperature range 1 to 90°C. The importance of using both the ordinary Raman and the R ( v ) representation of the spectra is emphasized. Both the Raman spectra and the R ( v ) spectra are analyzed in terms of Fourier-transform techniques. The dynamics can be separated in a short- and a long-time mechanism. Regarding the latter a correlation with the viscosity is observed.
