A Contrastive Study of English and Chinese Subjective Causative Verbs

In this paper, a contrastive study of English and Chinese objective causative verbs is made from the semantic analysis. After data analysis and contrast, we found that there are many similarities in semantic features between English and Chinese objective causative verbs. But due to the basic differences between the language typologies and differences between ways of conceptualization of English-speaking people and Chinese-speaking people, in the ways of expression of objective causative verbs and syntactic features, English and Chinese causative verbs differ from each other greatly and have their own specific ways of linguistic representations
