The invention discloses an auxiliary device and method for assembling a double-column cylindrical roller bearing, relating to an auxiliary device and an assembling method thereof. The auxiliary device comprises a gasket (6) and an auxiliary retainer (13), wherein the gasket is of a step-shaped and hollow cylindrical structure; multiple steps which are concave inwards are formed between the middle part and edge of the gasket, so that an inner flange (9) and an outer flange (7) of the gasket are respectively formed in the middle part and the convex part of the edge of the gasket; the bottom of the auxiliary retainer is of an annular structure; multiple bar-shaped bulges (15) are uniformly formed above the bottom of the annular structure at intervals; a pocket is horn-shaped; the auxiliary retainer is arranged on one of the steps of the gasket, so as to form the auxiliary device. According to the invention, quick abutting joint of the auxiliary retainer and a retainer is realized, the probability that rollers scratch the work surface of the inner ring roller path of the bearing is reduced, the surface qualities of the inner ring roller path of the bearing and the rollers are guaranteed, and the time for putting the rollers into the pocket of the retainer is shortened.
