Spherical lithium carbonate and preparation method thereof

The invention discloses spherical lithium carbonate and a preparation method thereof. The preparation method includes: preparing a sodium carbonate solution and a lithium sulfate solution; adding a surface treating agent into the sodium carbonate solution or the lithium sulfate solution, and evenly stirring; mixing the sodium carbonate solution and the lithium sulfate solution under a high-speed stirring state, wherein reaction temperature is controlled to be 85-100 DEG C; performing heat preservation and aging under a low-speed stirring state, and performing solid-liquid separation on the materials to obtain wet lithium carbonate products and a lithium-precipitated mother solution; washing the wet lithium carbonate products, and drying to obtain the spherical lithium carbonate. The preparation method has the advantages that the spherical lithium carbonate with the purity being larger than 99.5% is obtained by controlling process conditions and adding the surface treating agent, and the prepared spherical lithium carbonate is high in purity, less prone to agglomeration, good in flowability and dispersity and capable of benefiting subsequent mixing and processing.
